Fishers High School
The Fishers varsity boy’s lacrosse team hosted the Panthers of Park Tudor for their final home regular season game yesterday evening. Fishers Boy’s Lacrosse recognized the hard work and dedication of its senior players and manager before the game. We thank all the seniors and their families for all they have done to make Fishers Boy’s Lacrosse a successful program on and off the field over the past 4 years.
The Fishers Boy’s Lacrosse team also hosted its annual Youth NIght. Dozens of youth lacrosse players attended the game and took part in the evening’s events by welcoming the Varsity team as they entered the field, taking part in raffles for Fishers Lacrosse gear, took shot attempts at our fastest shot station, played a scrimmage at halftime, ate pizza that was generously donated from our sponsor BoomBozz pizza and some of the youth players watched the game from the sideline with the team.
The Tigers took an early lead at the 11:39 mark of the first quarter when senior attackman Joe O’Connell (5 goals, 3 assists) dodged from behind the goal scoring unassisted. Senior midfielder Beau Wilbrandt (2 goals) scored the second goal of the game and his first of the season at the 8:23 mark of the first quarter off of an assist from Joe O’Connell. Later in the quarter sophomore attackman Matthew Shores (2 goals, 1 assist) fed Joe O’Connell for his second goal of the game. Additional goals were scored by senior midfielder Max Shores (4 goals, 2 assists) and senior attackman Justin Wilson (2 goals) to end the quarter with a 6-1 Tiger lead.
In the second quarter the Tigers continued to build their lead by scoring another 4 goals and heading into halftime the score was 10-1 Tigers. Throughout the game the Tigers earned 32 ground balls, took 43 shot attempts, won 14 of 23 face offs (60%), and were 2 of 4 (50%) on extra man opportunites. The Tiger’s total team effort earned them a 16-3 win on a beautiful May evening.
