On Saturday April 29 the Tigers traveled to Culver Indiana for a contest with then ranked #1 Culver Academy Eagles. The game was moved to a 10:00 am start time due to incoming storms that would hit Indiana later in the day.
The Tigers gave up a quick goal on the Eagles’ first possession of the game but the Tigers would answer quickly by winning the faceoff and scoring the tying goal by senior midfielder Max Shores (2 goals, 2 assists). The Tigers lead 3-1 after goals by freshman attackman Matthew Shores (3 goals) and senior attackman Joe O’Connell (1 goal). However, several early defensive mistakes cost the Tigers as Culver tied the score 3-3 at the end of the first quarter.
Culver would score early in the second quarter giving them a 4-3 advantage but goals by Max and Matthew Shores would give the Tigers the lead 5-4 heading into halftime. The Eagles would tie the game quickly during the third quarter by scoring off of a rebounded save attempt. The Tigers gave great effort during the entire game but the eagles managed to pull away in the second half and ultimately winning the game 10-6.
The Tigers will face HCLC opponent Noblesville on Wednesday May 3 at Reynolds Tiger Stadium.
