On a rain soaked Wednesday evening the Tigers would host Hoosier Crossroads Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) rival Noblesville Millers. The Tigers started strong scoring 4 straight goals to take an early lead heading into the second quarter.
The Millers would score early with their extra man offense in the second quarter but senior midfielder Cam Gieselman (3 goals) would answer with a goal off of a feed from senior midfielder Max Shores (2 goals, 1 assist). Cam scored all three of his goals in the first half. The Millers would add a second goal scored in transition and the half would end 5-2 Tigers.
The Tigers would control possession for the majority of the game and the Tiger offense outshot their opponent 40-14. The Tiger defense provided a solid effort only allowing 3 goals the entire game. Senior defenseman Branden Stoeffler tallied 4 ground balls and 3 caused turnovers, freshman long stick midfielder Colin Bilbrey tallied 4 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers and freshman defenseman Nick Leath tallied 4 ground balls and 1 caused turnover. Junior goalie Isaiah Dunnuck made 4 saves in the defensive effort. The Tiger face off unit would win 8 of the 15 face offs providing extra possessions for the Tigers. The Tigers would win 9-3.
The Tigers return to action this Friday May 5 at Reynolds Tiger Stadium as they match up against #10 Heritage Christian (6-3).
– The Tigers recognized HSE-Fishers U14 Youth Travel Team during halftime. This youth team is having a tremendous season with a 13-3 record and outscoring their opponents 158-68. Keep up the great work!
– The Tigers won the ground ball battle 27-22.
– The rain never stopped during the entire game.
– The coaching staff recognized Cam Gieselman and Nick Leath as players of the game.
