New Palestine High School
Fishers High School
The JV Tigers (12-8, 6-5) beat a very good New Palestine team 6-5 last night at Tiger Field. The Tigers came out hot but scoring 2 runs in the first and 3 in the second. With the game tied in the bottom of the 6th, Luke Albright led off being hit by his second pitch of the night. Alex Gleason pinch ran for Albright. After taking second base on an error, he was balked over to third with 1 out. Gleason would eventually score the winning run off of a wild pitch. Leading the way for the Tigers offense were Trevor Newman (2-3, 2R, 1D, 1SB, 1BB, 1RBI) and Craig Yoho (2-3, 1D). Also adding his first JV hit and RBI was Jack Roudebush. Jack also scored a run. Tony Hoffman and Nathan Humphrey each added a hit.
Craig Yoho earned his 4th win of the year pitching the final 2 innings of relief for starter Drew Fosler. Both guys threw very well and kept the Tigers in the game. They both combined to strike out 5 hitters while only walking 3. They forced bad contact which allowed the defense to make plays. The Tigers return to action tomorrow when they will host HCC foe Westfield in the first of 3 games.
