Game Recap

The Fishers Tigers Varsity Baseball team (4-2/1-0) won their HCC opener at 4A #3 Noblesville by a score of 6-2. Sophomore Luke Duermit took a no hitter into the 6th inning before giving up a 2-run homerun. Duermit (1-1) picked up the win, throwing 5+ innings of 2-hit ball while striking out 7. Junior Elliott Gilmore came on in relief to work out of a tough jam in the 6th with the tying run on 2nd. Gilmore finished the game for his first career save.

Offensively, the Tigers were led by Senior Joe Michel who finished with 3 hits, including an RBI double to start the scoring in the 3rd. Junior Christian Chapman delivered a 2-run double in the top 6th and later scored to extend the Tigers lead to 4-0. The Tigers added 2 insurance runs in the top of the 7th. Sophomore Caleb Brenczewski finished the night with a 2-4 effort, including a double and RBI. Senior Dylan Bryant also added 2 hits.
