Game Recap

The JV Tigers (1-0, 0-0) opened up their season with a very solid team victory Monday night against Kokomo High School 10-6. The Tigers offense was very productive all day starting right off the bat. The Tigers scored 2 runs in the bottom of the first to even the score. In the second, the Tigers offense exploded to put up 7 runs. The Tigers showed great energy and fundamentals as they executed a steal of home plate by Trevor Newman. The Tigers recorded 10 runs on 6 hits while walking 7 times. Leading the way offensively for the Tigers were Tony Hoffman and Taylor Soper. Hoffman had 2 doubles and 3 RBI’s. Soper had 3 RBI’s and recorded 2 hits.
Justin Pope recorded his first win of the season after relieving starter Parker Wells. The pitching staff of Wells, Pope, Evan Patrick, and Matt Wolff combined to strike out 15 batters. The Tigers return to action tomorrow night when the travel to Hamilton Heights to take on the Huskies. The Tigers return home on Weds to host Carmel.
