Game Recap

The JV Tigers (3-0/0-0) capped off 3 games in 3 days with a very impressive win over a Carmel team that beat them 3 times the year before. The Tigers started strong by executing a 1st/3rd leave early play to perfection in the bottom of the 1st to start the scoring. In the 2nd, the Tigers added 4 more to extend the lead and put 2 more on in the 3rd to make it 7-0. Carmel finally got on the board in the top of the 5th, but the Tigers responded making the score 8-1. The final score was 8-5 as the Greyhounds made a late run.

Leading the way for the Tigers offense were Trevor Newman, Drew Hilbert, and Matthew Wolff. Each guy had 2 hits on the night, while Hilbert and Wolff added multiple RBIs. The Tigers approach at the plate has continued to improve as they are attacking fastballs.

On the mound, Hilbert picked up his first win of the year by throwing 4 innings of great ball. Taylor Soper and Craig Yoho came in to relieve Hilbert and then passed it over to Wolff for his first save of the year. The Tigers return to action next Wednesday April 8th when they host Noblesville at 6pm.
