Game Summary

1Q

F – Ben Norton 24 yd field goal

The IHSAA tournament kicked off on a cold and rainy night. The Fishers Tigers won the toss and elected to defer as the Southeastern Royals took the ball to begin the game. Both teams traded punts as the rain continued to fall. Fishers put together a very nice drive midway through the quarter but was stopped short on 3rd down and had to settle for a 24 yard field goal from Ben Norton.

2Q

S – Jackson Sweeney 1 yd run (Tyler Melser kick blocked)

Both teams again traded punts early in the 2nd quarter. Southeastern played the field position game as their punt was downed at the 8 and a penalty forced the Tigers back to the 4 yard line. Fishers attempted a long pass to prime the offense, but the ball was just out of reach of the wide receiver. After a Tigers punt, two quick runs set the tone for the Royals next drive. Jackson Sweeney was the star of the drive and he finished it with a 1 yard run to give Southeastern the lead by a score of 6 – 3. This score would hold up as the teams went to the half.

3Q

F – HL Lewis 6 yd (conversion no good)

The Tigers came out of halftime with the ball and were able to put together a nice scoring drive. On 4th down, Fishers ran a fake punt and Matt Wolff was able to go around the left side for the 1st down. The offense kept going and HL Lewis scored with the assist of a nice kick out block to the left corner of the end zone. Neither offense really did much during the rest of the quarter. Daniel Amadi had a nice tackle for loss for the Tigers to force a punt.

4Q

The Tigers started with the ball early in the quarter and after a nice defensive stand, but Ben Norton missed just to the left. After a bad snap, the Royals were forced to punt and the Tigers drove to midfield. With just under 5 minute to play, the Tigers fumbled at midfield and the Royals recovered at their own 43. The Fishers defensive line made a huge defensive stand to force a turnover on downs on 4th and 1 at the Tigers 48 yard line. Matt Wolff just barely converted on a 4th down quarterback sneak and HL Lewis ran for 9 yards on 3rd down to run out the clock.
