Game Recap

The #3 Fishers Tigers Varsity Baseball team (24-4/15-2) finished the 2017 season undefeated at home with a 4-2 victory over Zionsville on Senior Night. The Tigers only had 3 hits on the night, but all 3 were big hits that led to the Tigers 4 runs.

Craig Yoho delivered the first big hit with a 2-run homerun to left that tied the score at 2-2 in the bottom of the 3rd. The homerun was Yoho’s 5th homerun of the season. The Tigers took the lead with 2 more runs in the 4th inning. Brendan Toungate led off the inning with a walk. Taylor Soper then smoked an RBI double to left field for what proved to be the game winning run. Two outs later, Matthew Wolff added an insurance run with a pinch hit double to left centerfield.

Luke Duermit earned his 8th victory on the mound, improving to 8-0 on the season. Duermit pitched 5 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits, while striking out 6. Evan Patrick worked a scoreless 6th inning, and Soper pitched a 1-2-3 7th inning to earn his 8th save of the season.

The Tigers closeout their HCC schedule on Saturday when they travel to Zionsville for a 12pm start.
